About 2 months ago two friends and I teamed up for a road trip through the beautiful country of Holland. Luckily our route crossed one of Europes most famous dealers for vintage Volkswagen buses: Kieft en Klok.
About 20 minutes by car from Arnheim you can reach the workshop of Kieft en Klok in a little town called Renkum. Even during midweek around lunch time we were welcomed very friendly and allowed to take a look at everything – the showroom, the workshop and the nearby parts-shop. There were lots of aircooled VW Buses (split, bay and vanagon), some Volkswagen beetles, a few vintage Porsches as well as a Karmann Ghia and a Kübelwagen. Besides all of those cool cars we could spot lots of awesome details and cool stuff like a WW2 motorbike, vintage signs and other advertising materials as well as huge original „Volkswagen“ letterings and nostalgic pedal-cars.
Of course i took some pictures for you:
A room further there were lots of nice accessories, VW fan stuff and of course many spare parts for old Volkswagens. I can not believe it – but I only bought some t-shirts!
All in all it was a very cool visit and i would recommend it to everyone who is nearby! Sadly we didn’t have that much time and had to resume our trip through the Netherlands again. Before we left, i also took some photos in the yard. Showing some more T2 Westfalia buses, a split crew cab and a T3 Syncro with 39.000 original kilometers on the speedo!
So far about our excursion to Holland. But as some of the careful readers of this blog may have noticed, i have not been posting a lot this year due to laziness of writing on the one hand and more time spent at our bus on the other hand. Of course there will be a own blog post about all the progresses on our splitbus restoration project soon. Stay tuned!
